Chinese M&A in Europe often results in sudden replacement of democratic corporate culture by meritocratic corporate dynamics with different power constructions, communication and information methods, leadership styles that are not acceptable for Europeans. The result is that executives and specialists leave the company, implying loss of expertise and assets, employee satisfaction goes down, retention becomes problematic. Replacement of European by Chinese employees is not an option as companies work with European customers and in a European context.
